Tungsten Grinder – Sharpie Arc-Zone

With the purchase of my Lincoln Precision TIG 225 Welder I decided to also get a tungsten grinder.  Something I could always use for grinding tunsten to the same angle over and over w/out worry of contaminent or a bad grind.

This led me to a handheld unit called the Sharpie Tungsten Grinder from Arc-Zone.   Arc-Zone makes 3 different models.  The first is your basic tungsten grinder that will grind one angle only, the next (the one I purchased) can do any angle you set, and the 3rd model can do any angle but also has a tiny bag to catch the dust.

The sharpie tungsten grinder is technically an adapter that goes on the Black and Decker hand tool.   The Sharpie Tungesten Grinder does come with the hand tool and you can probably piece together the tungsten grinder itsef from Arc-Zone if you already have the black and decker tool.

The setup for the tungsten grinder was very easy and it has produced great points to my tunsgten.

This is a close-up of the adjustable angle mechanism as well as an overview of the entire tungsten grinder attachment for the black and decker tool.

This shows the cut where you can cut your tungsten in half or cut off the tip if you need too.

The holes here are used to blunt the tip of your newly sharpened tungsten.  This works qucik and easy and makes sure a flat grind is done every time.

Overall I am very happy with this tungsten grinder and have used it probably 20 or 30 times. (I am a new TIG welder!!)

  1. Thanks for the shoutout! We’re glad you’re happy with the Sharpie Grinder, it’s one of our most popular products. Have you tried the Arc-Time tungsten?? and be sure you’ve got a gas lens on that TIG Torch. If you don’t, give us a call (800-944-2243) and we’ll hook you up.
